Creamy, tangy and flavourful, make this Ranch Dressing Recipe in just 5 minutes!
This Ranch Dressing Recipe is incredibly flavourful and versatile. You will love this recipe for its ability to enhance the flavour of your foods while adding a creamy texture.
Ranch dressing is a popular condiment in the United States. It originates from cowboy Steve Henson. He invited guests to his ranch and wanted to impress them with a salad dressing featuring buttermilk, herbs and spices. This Ranch Dressing Recipe is sure to impress your family and enhance your meals.

Why make homemade ranch dressing?
Obviously you can buy ranch dressing in bottles, but believe me this is far better than you can purchase. There are no preservatives, only fresh ingredients. Whether its to go on a salad, accompany a dish or to stir into this delicious crack chicken recipe, you are going to love it.
What ingredients do you need to make ranch dressing? Can I substitute?
Typically, ranch dressing is made with sour cream, mayonnaise, buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, dried parsley, salt and black pepper including some extra ingredients I have added to this particular recipe. You can substitute some of these ingredients for healthier alternatives or if you're struggling to get hold of the key ingredients.
You can use Greek yoghurt instead of sour cream in this Ranch recipe as a healthy alternative. Instead of buttermilk, you can use a mixture of regular milk and lemon juice or white vinegar. So easy, there really isn't any excuse to not make this delicious ranch dressing.

I'm confused about this recipe....cucumbers and coconut are not in the ingredients, but appear in the instructions. Carrots don't appear anywhere but in the picture. Sounds promising though...help?
Dan Toombs says
Hi Bev
Understandably. 🙂 I recently updated my site and for some reason some of the recipes got mixed up. All fixed now.
Thank you.

It’s a really gorgeous salad. We’ve had it as part of a South Indian feast, with barbecues and I’ve taken it ito work as a stand alone salad.
Lovely!

Whow... 1 Tablespoon salt? It is a lovely combination, but seriously way too salty.
Caroline Toombs says
Sorry, that should be 1 teaspoon. Thanks for noticing. I have amended the recipe.
