How long will my Honey Garlic Chicken keep in the fridge?
As I’m sure you will know, recipes like this Honey Garlic Chicken are best served hot from the pan. If you do want to store leftovers, you can though.
This chicken recipe will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days. Make sure to store the chicken in airtight containers to prevent it from drying out.
Also, if possible, store the sauce separately from the chicken. This helps maintain the chicken’s crispiness and prevents it from becoming soggy.
To reheat, just heat up your pan with a little oil and toss the leftovers around until heated through. That or use your microwave or better… and air fryer set to 200°C/400°F until heated through.
Can you freeze the Honey Garlic Chicken?
Yes, you can freeze this Honey Garlic Chicken recipe. Allow both the chicken and sauce to cool completely before freezing.
Honey Garlic Chicken can be frozen for up to 3 months. For the best texture, freeze the cooked chicken and sauce separately. This prevents the chicken from becoming soggy when reheated.
Pro Tips
- Use Boneless Thighs for Tenderness: Use boneless chicken thighs instead of breasts. Thighs remain juicy and tender, even when cooked with the sticky sauce.
- Cook on High Heat for Crispy Skin: Sear the chicken on high heat to develop a golden, crispy exterior. Be sure to get the pan hot before adding the chicken to achieve the best results.
- Let the Sauce Reduce: Simmer the sauce until it thickens and becomes glossy. This reduction process concentrates the flavors and ensures a rich, sticky coating that clings to the chicken beautifully.
