Banana & Avacado Lassi

October 27, 2020 By Dan Toombs Leave a Comment

I love this fruit smoothie. If you make a banana smoothie it will always be filling but the addition of avacado will keep you feeling full for hours.

This is a particularly nourishing, filling fruit smoothie.

It is technically a lassi as contains quite a lot of yogurt. I have committed the cardinal sin of adding milk to this fruit lassi. Milk is not usually used to make lassis as the liquid is generally formed from just yogurt and ice.

However as I am using banana and avacado together for this banana smoothie I find the drink to be too thick without the addition of some milk.  If you like a very thick fruit lassi then leave the milk out to keep it more of an authentic lassi.

I used the Vitamix A3500i blender which produces a great smooth drink. However I also use a Nutibullet often which works well too.

Make the recipe your own

I use low fat Greek yogurt in all of my lassi recipes but if you prefer to use full fat Greek yogurt for your banana smoothie then that will work just fine too. Cardamom is not an absolutely necessary ingredient so if you don’t have any don’t panic but the flavour does add a nice touch. Put a little in the blender to blend with all the other ingredients and a little sprinkled on top  looks great at the end.

Disclosure: I was sent the Vitamix A2500i blender to try in my recipes. I love it and was under no obligation to say that. I do not work for Vitamix but if you click the links provided to the machine and order, I do make a small amount of money through Amazon Associates for the recommendation.
