I love this nectarine and apple smoothie. The nectarine and apple flavours work so well together.
I love the flavours in this nectarine and apple lassi. A lassi is simply what the Indians call a smoothie, lassis are generally made with Greek yogurt and ice with no milk.
Nectarines are very similar in taste to peaches so go ahead and use peaches instead of nectarines if peaches are more readily available to you.
Lassis make great, nutritious breakfast but they are often drank after or with a meal.
I used the Vitamix A3500i for my nectarine smoothie but all blenders will do the job. I used to have a Nutribullet which is a far less expensive blender than the Vitamix but as I use my blender for many other things I would recommend the Vitamix A3500i blender for fruit smoothies and lassis.
Make the recipe your own
I add a little honey for some sweetness to my nectarine smoothie but this is not strictly necessary. I also love to add turmeric for the excellent health benefits and the addition of turmeric also produces a wonderfully coloured fruit smoothie. Obviously if you don’t enjoy the strong flavour of turmeric leave this out.
- 250 ml ( 1 Cup ) Greek Yogurt
- 2 apples
- 2 nectarines
- 1 tbspn honey ( optional )
- 1 tsp turmeric
- Handful of ice
- Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth
