Nectarine & Apple Smoothie

I love this nectarine and apple smoothie. The nectarine and apple flavours work so well together.

As smoothies go, this is a good one. You prepare it in the same way you do a lassi, so I guess you could call it a nectarine and apple lassie. More people know about smoothies so we’ll keep the name as it is but you will be making a delicious lassie here!

What is a lassie and how does it differ to a smoothie?

A lassi is simply what the Indians call a smoothie, lassis are generally made with Greek yogurt and ice with no milk. Smoothies can have milk, cream or even ice cream in them so this lassie version of a nectarine and apple smoothie is healthier than most but you still get a delicious flavour that is to die for!

Can you use other fruit in this nectarine and apple lassie?

Why not? Nectarines are very similar in flavour to peaches so go ahead and use peaches instead of nectarines if peaches are more readily available to you.  You can also use any fruit really. If it sounds good, it probably will be.

When do you serve nectarine and apple smoothies?

You might think of a fruit smoothie like this as a breakfast drink. It is a good and healthy way to begin the day, after all.

This nectarine and apple lassie, however is also very popular any time of day. Lassies are also delicious served with a good curry.

What do you serve nectarine and apple smoothie with?

As this is a lassie version of a smoothie, you can really serve it whenever and with whatever you like.

Ingredients for the nectarine lassi

The delicious smoothie ingredients. Get them all together before starting.

Add the nectarine and apple to your blender.

Then add the turmeric, honey and yogurt.

Add the ice. I like mine with lots of ice but you could adjust the amount you add to your own personal preference.

Make the recipe your own

I add a little honey for some sweetness to my nectarine and apple smoothie but this is not strictly necessary. I also love to add turmeric for the excellent health benefits and the addition of turmeric also produces a wonderfully coloured fruit smoothie. Obviously if you don’t enjoy the strong flavour of turmeric leave this out.

  • 250 ml ( 1 Cup ) Greek Yogurt
  • 2 apples
  • 2 nectarines
  • 1 tbspn honey ( optional )
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • Handful of ice


  1. Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth
